Teaching Assistant required in Wantage

Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a school in the Wantage area who are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with them on a full time basis. 

The school is a mainstream primary school who need a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs. 

The pupil is in year 4 and has Special Educational Needs in the form of social, emotional and mental health needs and attachment issues. They are currently working below thier age related expectations and need one to one support throughout the week to help them close this gap. 

The school start at 8.35am and finish at 3.05pm.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children
  • Have experience supporting those with special educational needs
  • Be calm, patient and empathetic 
  • Be well organised, reliable and trustworthy
  • Be proactive and efficient
  • Be flexible in thier approach and willing to undertake a variety of tasks

The ideal candidate will also:

  • Be restraint trained i.e. Team Teach trained
  • Have a DBS that is registered with the DBS update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
