Teaching Assistant required in Blackpool secondary school

Job description

Since the turn of the year, Teaching Personnel have seen an increase in schools in the Blackpool (Poulton area) requiring SEN experienced Teaching Assistants to work with small groups and individual children who are in need of additional support.

These needs vary from children with Autism, ADHD and Social Emotional & Mental Health issues. The type of support these children require varies from 1:1 to 1:2 and small grouped work. The positions we fill in schools are cropping up every week and so we are in demand of staff who have experience and who are qualified at either Level 2 or above/Degree level. If you are from a care support background, or you have only had experience in residential care then you still have transferable skills which can be utilised effectively in mainstream settings and our schools also want to hear from you!

Further to the information above; there are children in mainstream secondary schools in the Blackpool area who require support on a full and part time basis. Some of these children have SEN statements and Education Care plans and as a result of this, funding is available to support the child for an amount of time. We also support children who are from Traveller backgrounds and Looked After Children as well.

Please contact me if you would like to find out more information on what how we are supporting children with SEN across the Blackpool area and how you apply for these roles in our secondary schools.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
