Teaching Assistant - Physical Disabilities

Are you looking for work as a Teaching Assistant? Do you want to work with children who have Special Needs?

We are working with an Ofsted Outstanding SEN school who cater for Primary and Secondary aged pupils with physical disabilities as well as learning needs. You will be required to work in the classrooms, where class sizes consist of roughly 4 - 6 pupils, taking on a supportive role with the aim of assisting the learners to learn and develop to the best of their abilities:

Requirements:

- Assist in implementing all aspects of each learners individual education and healthcare plans.

- Effectively carry out tasks, such as lunch duty, class activities, assisting with lesson planning, tidying up at the end of the day. 

- A relevant qualification or previous experience working in healthcare, or with Special Needs individuals, is desirable but not essential. 

- Patient and motivating, as the pupils are encouraged to work as independently as possible. 

- A positive and friendly personality, and the ability to build relationships with the pupils and staff alike.

- Experience and a certificate in moving and handling would be beneficial, but not essential. 

This is a lovely school set in vast and expansive grounds. In order to ensure that each pupil thrives, the school need the right staff to aid their pupil's learning and development. The school also have residential homes for the students, where they have Support Workers on a bank rota - If the school based role isnt for you, but you feel that the residential side might be better suited, please still apply!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
