Teaching Assistant - PD Support

If you are trained or experienced in caring for people with physical disabilities and are able to execute the appropriate moving and handling methods which ensure safety to both yourself and your client, we have a job which is right for you.

In many SEN schools students have disabilities which restrict their mobility, such as cerebral palsy, and require 1:1 assistance with mobility around the school campus, and personal care.
As their assigned Teaching Assistant, your role requires you to attend all lessons and breaks with them, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. You will be directly responsible for assisting with going to the toilet, changing, and helping them to leave the building in case of fire. Some students with fine motor disabilities may also require you to scribe for them or assist with feeding.

Due to the hands on nature of the role, it's essential to have training in moving and handling people.

The ideal person for this role will need to be patient, happy to undertake a plethora of responsibilities, be first point of care and physically able to handle the role.

The role requires you to work school time hours (between 8.30-3.30) Monday to Friday.
