Teaching Assistant (Short-Term – ASD Support)

We are seeking a patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism (ASD) in a welcoming primary school in the Morecambe (LA3) area. This is a short-term role linked to funding, with a focus on supporting the child’s learning, communication, and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to a pupil with ASD
• Implement structured routines and strategies to support engagement
• Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities
• Promote a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) in a school setting
• Understanding of strategies such as visual supports, routines, and sensory needs
• Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
