Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 1, ADHD)

Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 1 with ADHD at a welcoming and supportive primary school in the South Shore area of Blackpool (FY4), starting in September 2026.

The Role

You will work closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access learning, maintain focus, and regulate behaviour within the classroom environment. The role will involve:

Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day
Supporting the child’s academic, social, and emotional development
Implementing strategies to support attention, engagement, and behaviour regulation
Building a strong, positive relationship with the pupil
Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
Promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children with ADHD or additional needs (school-based or similar setting)
Is patient, resilient, and nurturing
Has strong behaviour management skills
Can adapt learning and communication styles to suit individual needs
Is committed to supporting every child to reach their potential
Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant – desirable but not essential)
