Teaching Assistant Level 2 - Preston

Our client school in Prston are seeking 3 Teaching Assistants for a September start.

You will be part of a strong ambitious team who have driven the development of the School from Requires Improvement to Good and are now heading towards outstanding. There is a strong emphasis on providing for individual pupil needs to ensure each pupil can maximise their own potential. The school is a specialist provision for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental health needs, all pupils have Education and Health Care Plans. Experience of working with pupils with ASC, ADHD, Moderate Learning needs, Specific Learning needs and other forms of neuro diversity would be adventageous, however training will be provided. The role will involve general in-class support and individual pupil support both in class and during withdrawal sessions. You will be expected to deliver individual packages of support for literacy, numeracy and social skills as directed by a Teacher. All Teaching Assistant's act as a keyworker for pupils, and are required to build up supportive relationships with families, and keep records relating to the pupils. All applicants must be committed to undertake in service development, and have a strong committment to safeguarding, and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or above- appropriate to the post
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Mathematics/ numeracy

Desirable Qualifications

  • Team Teach qualification

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment
  • Experience of Administrative work
  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
