Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working along side a school in the NG17 area that supports students who present with SEMH and ASC.


The school has newly opened and supports students aged between 11 and 18 years old, and has both academic and vocational learning facilities to encourage success in all educational areas. Vocational subjects including, vehicle mechanics, hair and beauty and catering. It is important to the school that the pupils benefit from academic, social and emotional development and also offers therapy and pastoral support to ensure this.


Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for teaching assistants/learning mentors with the following experience:

  • Relevant teaching assistant qualifications
  • Ability to communicate calmly and in an understanding demeanor
  • Preferably experience supporting individuals who present with SEMH and ASC
  • Available either full time or part time in September
  • Ideally completed CPD courses (including Team Teach, Autism Awareness ect)
  • Excellent References from past employment
  • Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service
  • Able to confidently support students in class of up to 6 students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
