Are you a graduate seeking paid experience within a secondary school before completing your PGCE application? Or, are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to work in a welcoming and supportive school in Plymouth?
A school on the outskirts of Plymouth requires a ‘future teacher’ or an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a student with challenging behaviour on a full time basis from September. This student is transitioning into key stage 4 and needs 1:1 support in the classroom. This role is temporary to start off with however there may be potential for a permanent contract in the schools Learning Support Centre for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have:
- Recent experience supporting and working with children and young adults with special educational needs. This can be from a care or educational background. If applying as a graduate, you must be passionate about gaining experience in education.
- A nurturing and patient approach to learning and understanding.
- Have a strong academic background. Grades A – C in Maths and English GCSE
- A DBS on the update service on be willing to get one through Teaching Personnel – details below
Teaching Personnel offer competitive rates, WEEKLY PAY and do not use Umbrella companies to process your payment. Earn between GBP300 - GBP325 per week.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of GBP40, plus an annual subscription fee of GBP13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
