1:1 Teaching Assistant - Rochdale 

A large, thriving secondary school located in Rochdale are requiring the support of a Teaching Assistant to promote the learning and development of disadvantaged pupils on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time temporary opportunity starting ASAP and you will be required for the full academic year! This is a fantastic opportunity if you are considering a career in teaching!

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, responsibilities will involve but not be limited to:

-          Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, challenging behaviour and low target grades

-          Across all Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a particular focus on the new Year 7’s

-          Delivering tailored learning activities on a 1:1 basis to ensure pupils feel well supported

-          Assist in weaker areas such as; reading, writing, speech and language and numeracy.

-          Motivate and encourage pupils to reach their full potential

-          Paid weekly, earning GBP1400 a month 

The incoming Teaching Assistant will join a Rochdale based secondary school who were recently commended by Ofsted for their ‘inclusivity’ and ‘fantastic support’ on the whole. Due to the large pupil intake and catchment area of the school, the support of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant is essential in ensuring this support is maintained for all who require it. 

The ideal candidate for the role of 1:1 Teaching Assistant will have previous experience working with young people in small groups or on 1:1 and preferably hold a degree. These requirements are desirable and so we still strongly encourage those to apply who are considering a career in teaching and who have transferable skills from other work/experience.

The secondary school is just a 10 minute drive from Bolton town centre and very accessible via local public transport links from Bolton, Bury, Wigan and Salford.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
