Early Years Teaching Assistant 

 

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a mainstream Primary School in L36 are searching for a Teaching Assistant to work in their Early Years classrooms

The role is set to start after the October half term until the Christmas holidays, but possibly longer. The schools Foundation is all in one Unit, and as a TA you will be working with either the Nursery Teacher or the Reception Teacher, supporting the classroom and assisting pupils with their learning

The ideal person will have experience working with Nursery or Reception children and be confident with personal care. An Early Years qualification would be desirable. 

 

The role:

  • Start Date: Monday November 2nd
  • Full time, long term 
  • GBP10 - GBP11 per hour earnings 
  • Knowsley area (L36)
  • Early Years 

 

The tasks which an Early Years TA carries out can include:

  • Working with a Nursery or Reception Class
  • Running group sessions or interventions
  • Assisting with personal care when required 
  • Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
  • Assessing the individual learning needs of pupils
  • Positively managing challenging behaviour and dealing with difficult situations
  • Liaising with parents, carers and other professionals who work with the pupils
  • Supervising activities such as trips locally.

 

The School: 

The standard of behaviour is very high. Pupils relate well to each other, to staff and to visitors. They show respect for each other and the school environment, which is kept beautifully clean by the site staff. In lessons, pupils work with a high level of concentration and enthusiasm. All the pupils say that they enjoy coming to school. Pupils are particularly enthusiastic about the wide range of clubs, trips, residential experiences and other activities available to them.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
