PRIMARY SEN SUPPORT
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking someone to support children with SEN or Mental Health. We want someone who can hit the ground running to support children who are anxious about the return to school. Our ideal candidate will be able to engage disengaged pupils and use positive behaviour management to work with individuals or small groups.
We have numerous opportunities! Teaching Personnel looks after Schools and Multi Academy Trusts found in Sheffield and Chesterfield who are in search of SEN specialist support assistants to work with students on a daily basis.
As a result of COVID-19, many children will have had no structure or formal education for long periods. This will have had more impact on children who thrive off routine and familiarity, meaning these children may struggle with the transition back into the classroom. You will most probably be split between classroom based and 1:1 based sessions where you will deliver a variety of interventions to students, who in many instances struggle to learn in the conventional way. That said, it is imperative that you have the ability of becoming a calm influence whilst building a strong working relationship quickly. You will understand various approaches to learning and are able to create resources/interventions that meet the individual learners requirements.
Experienced primary school behaviour specialists would be ideal, however there are a number of other professions that make ideal behaviour support assistants. Some of these roles include:
- Psychology Graduates
- Youth Worker
- Sports background
- Social or Support workers
- PRU experience
- Counselling
- Special School experience
A normal working week will most probably consist of Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3.30pm with a half hour lunch.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
