 Learning Support Assistant – SEN Primary Schools (Southampton)
Location: Southampton
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (flexible)
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of SEN primary schools in the Southampton area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic, patient, and eager to make a positive impact in the classroom.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with a variety of SEN needs

  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment

  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and classroom routines

  • Monitor progress and contribute to learning plans

  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or within an SEN setting (desirable but not essential)

  • A compassionate, flexible, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A driving licence is preferred but not essential

  • Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
