Learning Support Assistant – SEN Secondary Schools
Location: Southampton
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Hours: Full-time or Part-time | School Hours | Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work within SEN secondary schools in the Southampton area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with additional needs and help them achieve both academically and personally.

About the Role:

  • Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.

  • Providing 1:1 support and assisting with small group interventions.

  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.

  • Supporting students’ emotional wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour.

  • Helping students to develop independence, confidence, and engagement in their learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, coaching, or similar).

  • Be confident supporting students with additional needs in a secondary setting.

  • Demonstrate patience, resilience, and strong behaviour management skills.

  • Have excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Be available during school hours and ready to start ASAP.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
