Learning Support Assistant – SEN Secondary Schools
Location: Southampton
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Hours: Full-time or Part-time | School Hours | Term Time Only

Teaching Personnel are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work within SEN secondary schools in the Southampton area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with additional needs and help them achieve both academically and personally.

About the Role:

Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.
Providing 1:1 support and assisting with small group interventions.
Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.
Supporting students’ emotional wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour.
Helping students to develop independence, confidence, and engagement in their learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, coaching, or similar).
Be confident supporting students with additional needs in a secondary setting.
Demonstrate patience, resilience, and strong behaviour management skills.
Have excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Be available during school hours and ready to start ASAP.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
