An Alternative provision are currently looking for multiple Teaching Assistants to work across Nottinghamshire. You will be based in one area/site, however there are opportunities within, Nottingham City, and Mansfield.

The provision caters for students aged 5 - 18 years old. The Alternative Provision provides One to One, Small groups & Vocational courses across the East Midlands.

The role of a teaching assistant involves offering short & long term interventions, through to full time delivery and management of education for a young person, on a one-to-one basis.

Your role will include:

  • Working one-to-one with two students per day
  • Planning and adapting lesson plans for each student
  • Transporting students between home and the learning locations
  • For each student you are required to have your own vehicle in order to transports the students and do extra-curricula activities with them

The ideal candidate MUST HAVE:

  • Experience supporting students from age 5 to 18, and confident in lesson/activity planning
  • Full Driving License
  • Car Business Insurance
  • Previous experience in an education, youth or residential setting
  • Additional CPD such as Autism Awareness, Team Teach or Safeguarding (desired but not essential)
  • A nurturing and calming attitude
  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS or BSL (Desirable but NOT essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
