Teaching Assistant

Job description

It is ever present in the news, in relation to children learning from home, that children considered in the vulnerable category are a significant concern to many head teachers. After such a long time away, many schools will be faced with children who are anxious, worried and not used to routines/structure in their day.

Our education specialist consultants converse with members of senior leadership across a number of schools located in South Sheffield and have established that one of the main priorities for schools on re opening is the well-being both physically and mentally of students.

Many children will find the return to school difficult and may become increasingly anxious as change impacts school life, and with social distancing measures in place. For some children the regular routine that school offers is the only stable aspect of their life and a time they look forward to.

Because of this, we are looking for a number of individuals to support students who will find the disruption harder to handle then others.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with the following backgrounds:

  • Social care
  • Support work
  • Youth work
  • SEN support
  • Fostering and involvement with LAC
  • Psychology
  • Counselling

You will be expected to work with students predominantly on a small group or 1:1 basis as well as work with colleagues to share ideas on best practice. You will have the patients and resilience to support students with wider needs.

Whether you can commit to part or full time or even 1 or 2 days a week, we have potential opportunities for you!

To find out more, please contact Yasmin Sims on 0114 241 3340 today or click 'apply' and forward your full CV for consideration.
