Teaching Assistant - Oldham

Do you have a passion for supporting young people through their time in education? Are you a dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for your next role?

Teaching Personnel, the market leader of education recruitment in the UK, are working alongside one of our client schools in Oldham who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team of support staff. This role is due to start in February 2019, and in the first instance will be until the end of the academic year, with a view that it could carry on into the new academic year.

  • Full time Teaching Assistant role
  • Part time hours available for the perfect candidate
  • Earn between £270 and £325 per week, dependent on experience

Our client school is an 11-16 academy located in the Lees area of Oldham, and has an excellent reputation in the local area. After relocating to their current campus in 2012, the school has been identified as one of the most improved academies in the country in recent years. Ofsted have rated the academy as 'Good' and in particular commented on the strong leadership.

"I am proud that our school was highly commended in the Greater Manchester Secondary School of the year awards this year. It is a unique school that has brought communities together, as one team to learn. As a school we are educating young people to be successful through strong leadership, high performing staff and through engaging communities. We have a growing reputation as one of the most improved and innovative academies in the country. Our purpose is simple; provide a caring, useful, enjoyable and effective school experience that prepares students for their next stage." Principal.

As a Teaching Assistant at our client school you will be expected to work across a range of different departments, supporting a range of individuals with their studies and general school life. The role will involve supporting students both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Assisting the class teacher in different scenarios when required, as well as potentially delivering pre-planned activities and content to the class will also be part of your role. The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain relationships with a range of different young individuals, as well as having excellent behaviour management skills and experience of working with students that have SEN needs.
