Teaching Assistant - Golborne High School

Are you a Teaching Assistant looking for an introduction to an exciting role within a supportive Secondary school in located within the Wigan LEA?

If so, and you are located in close proximity of Golborne then we wish to hear from you immediately.

The position;

  • Teaching Assistant - Full-time role
  • Working within the schools support department supporting the needs of their learners
  • Required to start at the earliest convenience
  • Competitive pay rates in line with your responsibilities

The schools SENCO wishes to meet with candidates at their earliest convenience with the aim to appoint a Teaching Assistant who can start this term.

As a Teaching Assistant within our client school you will have the opportunity to excel your knowledge and experience of working within secondary education. You will have the opportunity to support the learning of pupils in a range of different roles including; providing tuition in specific subjects, covering full lessons in the absence of teachers and also supporting individual pupils who have special education needs.

Applicants will ideally have previous experience working within education or transferable skills that relate to supporting the learning and development of pupils aged 11-16 (Desirable not essential).

School information;

  • Is smaller than the average Secondary school and currently has 800 pupils on roll.
  • Is based in Golborne on the outskirts of Wigan and is just minutes away from the A580.
  • Has an abundance of transport links in and out of Wigan and can be easily accessed from surrounding areas.
  • Achieved a Progress 8 score of +0.57 which places them in the top percentage of school in the country
  • Was graded 'Good' across the board in its most recent Ofsted report.
