A mixed secondary school in the Stretford area is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their support team at the beginning of the new academic year in September 2021. The successfully appointed Teaching Assistant is required on a part-time basis (3 or 4 days per week) starting with the school from Thursday 2nd September and taking up the position until the end of the academic year in July 2022. This Teaching Assistant is required to work in mainstream classes supporting students where required. This will be supporting in a range of classes including Maths, English, PE, History and Geography across the age and ability range. The students that require support have already been identified allowing the successful Teaching Assistant to build a relationship with specific students working with them closely in their classes.

The specific timetable hasn’t yet been fully decided so the 3 or 4 days haven’t set but likely to be Monday – Wednesday/Thursday each week.

If you have any experience of working with young people aged 11 – 16 in any capacity then please apply now as previous experience in this area is highly desirable. This could be in a school environment, youth worker setting or in a care capacity. As this is a general teaching assistant role, any graduates with experience of working with young people are encouraged to apply as well as any potential future teachers.

Key aspects of this Teaching Assistant role:

  • Pay will range between GBP1150 - GBP1350 per month dependent upon experience
  • Part time Teaching Assistant required, ideally starting on Thursday 2nd September 2021
  • Duration: remainder of the academic year until the end of July 2022
  • Support across the age, subject and ability range at this supportive secondary school

This average sized secondary school situated in the Stretford area of Greater Manchester is known to the local community as being supportive, well regarded and a school of choice for parents and staff alike. The support team is highly supportive and made up of the school SENCO, Hub Lead, Inclusion Manager and 5 Teaching Assistants that support in a variety of capacities. As a result, the successful teaching assistant will benefit from working within a supportive team and gaining further experience from collaborating with like minded teaching assistants.
