Secondary Cover Supervisor / General Cover – Stoke-on-Trent

Location: Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas
Pay: £115– £150 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day, flexible supply

Flexible Cover Roles in Local Secondary Schools

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Cover Supervisors / General Cover staff to support secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent on a day-to-day supply basis.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who are confident delivering pre-set work and supporting learning in subjects such as Maths, Design Technology, Art, and Food Technology. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work or looking to gain valuable classroom experience in secondary education.

Experience in schools is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with transferable skills from education, tutoring, youth work, coaching, or industry experience in relevant subjects are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

Your Role

  • Deliver and supervise pre-planned lessons across KS3–KS4

  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment

  • Support pupil engagement and on-task behaviour

  • Follow school policies and lesson plans 

 

We’re Looking For

  • Confident individuals able to lead a classroom independently

  • Strong communication and classroom presence

  • Experience or confidence in Maths, DT, Art, or Food Tech

  • Calm, professional approach to behaviour management

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
