Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit recent graduates for a number of Teaching Assistant positions within some of our key client secondary schools in Wigan.

If you have recently graduated from university with a specialism in Maths, English or Science and are now looking for an introduction to a career within education then we wish to hear from you.

  • Teaching Assistants required immediately
  • Tutoring opportunities - supporting the learning of students
  • Competitive pay rates - £1000 - £1200 a month
  • Working within a supportive secondary school in Wigan

To be considered for any of the above roles then you would be required to hold a valid DBS certificate that is registered to the update service, or be willing to apply for one.

With the exam period fast approaching a number of our key client secondary schools are now in need of support staff that are able to alleviate the pressures from the main classroom teachers, whilst supporting the learning of students on the lead up to their GCSE exams. It will be of great advantage in support of your application if you have previous experience working within a secondary school setting or previous experience supporting students with SEN requirements.

Roles and responsibilities;

  • Ensuring that lessons operate smoothly
  • Liaise with students and support them throughout the school day
  • Provide small group or 1:1 tuition to students in order to raise attainment.
  • Provide cover in the absence of the main classroom teacher. (Optional)
