A school located in South Manchester is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team on an initial temporary basis.

Requirements for the listed role are as follows:

  • A degree.
  • A passion for working with children.
  • Prior experience working with secondary school children, either in a school or alternative setting.

Aspects of this role include:

- Working with children on an individual basis, looking to improve overall attainment across several subjects.

- Working closely with children with SEN, ensuring the needs of these children are met effectively.

- Providing feedback on student attainment to senior leaders and subject leaders when necessary.

- Monitoring student behaviour, whilst ensuring pupils adhere to school policy.

- Working with full time teaching staff to produce educational resources that are engaging.

- Working with children who may struggle when trying to engage with the mainstream process.

This role presents itself as the ideal opportunity for a potential future teacher, who is looking to build on their experience before enrolling onto a PGCE or related teacher training course. We encourage aplpications from recent graduates, as well as those who have worked with children within a Sports Coaching capacity, or a setting related to Youth Work.

The school:

- Located in South Manchester, there are numerous public transport links within close proximity.

- Not far from the city centre.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
