On behalf of a group of Primary Schools in the York Area, we are seeking flexible support staff to be the teaching assistant for various classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. As a Learning Support Assistant you will be required to work both 1:1 and on a whole class basis depending on the requirements of the school. 1:1 work could mean helping pupils with challenging symptoms of various SEN diagnoses to access the curriculum or feel settled and happy in the class environment. They could also be working at a lower standard than expected, calling upon you to give them the confidence and the drive to excel. You may also be responsible for supporting the class teacher in setting up and delivering classroom based activities or supporting pupils who may be displaying challenging behaviour.
We want the right staff to start ASAP and the role is subject to an Enhanced Child Only DBS check. To be considered for this role you must have:
- At least 5 GCSEs A* - C (including English and Maths)
- Experience working/volunteering within an educational or childcare based setting
- A confident, outgoing and nurturing personality
- A desire to support the social, emotional and intellectual development of each pupil within the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
