Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full-Time Role in a Progressive Wythenshawe Primary School (Start Date: November)

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Wythenshawe, committed to supporting every child’s academic, emotional, and social development.

We’re currently seeking a passionate and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join this nurturing school community from November. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and collaborative environment.

About the Role:

As a HLTA, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teachers and pupils across a range of subjects. You’ll assist with lesson planning, deliver tailored interventions, and help foster an inclusive, engaging classroom environment. Your work will contribute directly to pupil progress and wellbeing, supporting both academic outcomes and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of dynamic and engaging lessons alongside the class teacher
  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to pupils
  • Deliver interventions for children with additional learning needs
  • Assist with lesson planning, resource preparation, and administrative tasks
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, staff, and external professionals
  • Track and report on pupil progress as required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting
  • Strong understanding of child development and classroom management
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, nurturing, and flexible approach to supporting young learners
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
