I am currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive team at a special educational needs school in Wakefield. The school is situated 10 minutes drive from the M62 and is easily accessible on public transport from Leeds and Wakefield.
The school are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to support students across the school, enabling them to experience achievement, independence and self-determination. Experience of working with students with special educational needs is advantageous, however, not essential for the right candidate who has a willingness to learn, get stuck in and be an active member of the staff team.

The role will involve working one-to-one and in small groups with pupils, providing direct support as required, including:-

  • in partnership with teachers in the planning of lessons including the adaptations, materials and direct support pupils will need.
  • Producing resources and ensuring they are available and utilised.
  • Ensuring pupil safety when undertaking any physical activity, practical subjects and movement around the school building.
  • Supporting on educational visits.
  • You will be required to support children with physical disabilities and learning difficulties. 
  • Additional training may be required however this can be provided by ourselves or the school.

  • Someone who is able to quickly form positive working relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Someone who is willing to support the ethos of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
