Design & Technology Teacher – Weymouth

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Weymouth. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire students through creative, practical and engaging learning.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of Design & Technology and a genuine passion for developing students' practical and theoretical skills. You will encourage creativity, problem-solving and independent thinking while helping students to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Developing students' practical, creative and technical abilities
• Teaching a range of materials, tools, processes and manufacturing techniques
• Supporting students in developing design ideas from concept through to finished product
• Preparing students for GCSE examinations where appropriate
• Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
• Supporting students with a range of abilities and additional learning needs
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, achievement and safety
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Design & Technology department

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who is:

• Qualified to teach Design & Technology within a secondary school setting
• Passionate about practical and creative education
• Confident teaching across KS3 and KS4
• Able to inspire students and develop their confidence in practical work
• Organised, adaptable and committed to high standards
• Able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
