Teaching Personnel is pleased to be recruiting for a creative, enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher to join a secondary school in Lyme Regis.

The successful candidate will have a passion for developing students' artistic ability and confidence, encouraging them to explore different techniques, materials and creative approaches.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys creating an inspiring classroom environment where students can develop their practical skills while learning to evaluate and communicate their own ideas.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging Art lessons

• Teaching across the relevant Key Stages

• Developing students' practical artistic skills

• Introducing students to a variety of artistic techniques and processes

• Encouraging creativity, experimentation and independent thinking

• Supporting students in developing their own artistic style

• Teaching students how to evaluate and improve their work

• Assessing and monitoring student progress

• Providing constructive feedback

• Preparing appropriate resources and materials

• Maintaining a safe and well-organised practical learning environment

• Differentiating lessons to support students of different abilities

• Encouraging high standards of presentation and achievement

• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the department

The Ideal Candidate

You will ideally have:

• Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching qualification

• Strong subject knowledge in Art

• Experience teaching within a secondary school

• A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching

• Excellent classroom management skills

• The ability to inspire and motivate students

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• A commitment to inclusive teaching

• High expectations of student progress and achievement
