Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Dorchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Mathematics and committed to helping students develop confidence in their mathematical ability. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that challenge students while providing appropriate support to those who require additional guidance.
You will play an important role in helping students develop the mathematical knowledge, reasoning and problem-solving skills required for continued academic success.
Responsibilities

Teach Mathematics across the relevant Key Stages

Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
-
Develop students' mathematical knowledge and understanding
-
Build confidence in problem-solving and mathematical reasoning
-
Prepare students for assessments and examinations where appropriate

Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities
-
Use assessment effectively to monitor progress
-
Provide meaningful and constructive feedback
-
Identify students who may require additional support
-
Maintain high standards of behaviour and achievement
-
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Encourage students to develop independent learning skills

Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department

Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a teacher who has:

Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching qualification

Strong Mathematics subject knowledge
-
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
-
Excellent classroom management skills
-
A positive and engaging teaching style
-
High expectations of student achievement
-
The ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs

Strong communication and organisational skills
-
A genuine passion for Mathematics and education
