About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school community in Sutton Coldfield. This role involves supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs in a mainstream secondary setting, helping them to access the curriculum and fully participate in school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with varying SEN needs, including learning, communication, social, and physical challenges.

  • Work closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.

  • Assist with classroom management and facilitate inclusive learning environments.

  • Support students during lessons, breaks, and social times as needed.

  • Monitor and report on students’ progress and well-being.

  • Promote independence and confidence in students with SEN.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in a secondary school setting.

  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • A relevant qualification or willingness to undertake training in SEN support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
