Are you looking for a rewarding, part time role? 

Teaching Personnel are currently representing a school in the S8 area of Sheffield. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a child on a 121 basis two days a week. In the first instance, this will be up to February half term but could be extended beyond. 

The school benefits from a new school building and resources and has a high intake of pupils who speak English as an additional language. It could be beneficial to have experience working with EAL pupils, but not essential. You will be expected to work with a child identified as being on the Autistic Spectrum on a 121 basis. This could include supporting the child within the classroom environment, working with the class teacher to bridge any gaps in learning, or taking the child outside of the classroom to deliver tailored interventions. There may be opportunities to deliver Nurture sessions for small groups of children, or lead sports activities. 

Our ideal Teaching Assistant;

  • Experienced supporting children with ASC 
  • Happy to work on a 121 basis or support small groups 
  • Experienced working in Primary settings 
  • Familiar with age related expectations in Primary settings 
  • Able to support with Nurture interventions
