SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £13.75 an hour


About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school community in Salisbury!


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs (such as; ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties)
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning plans and adapting classroom resources
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation, following individual support strategies
  • Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and enrichment activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement effective interventions

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (school, care, or youth setting preferred)
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach, with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and apply de-escalation strategies
  • A passion for supporting and shaping the future generations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
