A school in the Trafford region (Sale) of South Manchester is currently recruiting for a full-time temporary teaching assistant to start as soon as possible in January 2024. The school was rated ‘Outstanding’ in its last Ofsted report and benefits from and excellent SLT department and enthusiastic and committed staff along with an enthusiastic and engaged cohort of pupils where behaviour management issues are very limited. The school services a very affluent catchment area and consistently achieves good exam marks.

The school is accessible on public transport via both Tram and Bus (five-minute walk from the nearest Metrolink stop) and is approximately a 20-minute journey time from Manchester city centre. The role would involve assisting the class teacher across a range of subjects each day and working either one to one or with small groups of pupils who require extra attention in regard to supporting their learning within the classroom. The school day runs from 8:30am to 3pm (Monday to Friday). The school are looking for somebody to start as soon as possible, working full time up until the end of the schools Spring term. Although it is initially a temporary contract, there is a possibility of it being extended to permanent once the contract has finished. Some of the essential requirements for the role are listed below:

  • Experience within a classroom setting (desirable)/Transferrable skills (essential)
  • Strong Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Confidence/a desire to help students achieve their goals

This role would be perfect for anybody who is looking to gain added experience within a classroom before potentially commencing PGCE teacher training. If you have transferrable skills and are looking to become a Teaching Assistant, you are also encouraged to apply/

  • Pay: £385 - £425 per week depending on experience
  • Full time contract until Spring of 2024

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
