Location:South Manchester (Chorlton, Didsbury, Levenshulme, Wythenshawe & surrounding areas)
Salary: £89 - £95 per day
Contract Type:Full-time or part-time | Temporary to permanent
Start Date:September 2025 (or sooner for the right candidate)

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education? Do you want to gain hands-on classroom experience before committing to teacher training?

Teaching Personnel are proud to support secondary schools across South Manchesterwith the recruitment of enthusiastic and driven graduates looking to begin their career in education. As part of our Future Teachers Programme, this role is designed to help graduates step confidently into the world of teaching.

This is a paid, school-based experiencethat gives graduates the opportunity to work as teaching assistants, learning mentors, and unqualified cover teachers. Many of our Future Teachers progress into salaried teacher training or school-based routes such as Schools Direct or PGCEs after successful placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support in your subject of strength (Maths, English, Science, Humanities or others)

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to raise attainment

  • Support behaviour management and emotional regulation for students with additional needs

  • Assist with planning and preparation of learning activities

  • Lead small group booster sessions for pupils falling behind

  • Gain insight into teaching theory and practice through CPD and school mentorship

Ideal for graduates in:

  • Psychology

  • Education

  • English, Maths or Science

  • Sociology or Social Work

  • Sports or PE

  • History, Geography or RE

Requirements:

  • A university degree (2:2 or above preferred)

  • A passion for education and a desire to become a teacher

  • Confidence working with young people aged 11–16

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Willingness to commit to a school-based role for at least one term

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
