Headteachers and SENCOs in the local area urgently require staff who can cover emergency support roles within schools. These roles crop up due to staff absence, additional support, or staff shortages within schools. The roles can be part or full-time hours, flexible or fixed hours and short or long-term bookings. In essence we can find work in schools to suit your needs.
There is a variety of roles available within local mainstream Primary Schools working alongside children aged 4-11 - these roles include:
Maths support
English Support
Reading Support
General Class Support
Special Needs Support
Behaviour Support
When registering you can inform your consultant which of these roles you feel you would be suitable for and we can support your preferences.
Local Primary Schools encourage Continuous Professional Development within the school and believes in life-long learning. As a result, they regularly lead ‘in house’ CPD and the successful candidates will also have access to regular Teaching Personnel courses such as: TEAM TEACH, Effective Behaviour Management, Understanding Autism, and Learning Support.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
Supporting children within the classroom and preparing resources under the supervision of the class teacher.
Following school behaviour policies and using positivity to manage behaviour.
Assisting the class teacher and reporting back regarding any changes in behaviour and pupil progress.
Following ECHP’s (Educational and Health Care Plan) in place for specific individuals.
Undertaking general classroom activities such ensuring a clean and safe learning environment.
Teaching Assistant Qualities:
A keen interest in working within the classroom and encouraging children to flourish through supporting them during lessons.
Excellent people skills and the capability to follow the direction of the class teacher.
Excellent role model to young children and colleagues always whilst maintaining a mature and professional manner.
Good knowledge of Maths and English.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
