Job Description

As a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and enhancing the learning experience for young students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing Support: Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Individual Assistance: Work one-on-one with students who require additional support, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
• Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Resource Preparation: Prepare learning materials and resources.
• Student Welfare: Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teacher.
• Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist in developing their social skills.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students and monitor their progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
• Assist the class teacher in maintaining a safe and stimulating classroom environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role is preferred.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) is desirable.
• Experience working with children with SEN is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
