Job description

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a specialist setting in the Leigh area that supports pupils with SEMH needs, and we are looking for a committed compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team!

 

The Role:

-          Support pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, focusing on emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning

 

-          Build trusting relationships with students to encourage participation and progress

 

-          Assist the class teacher in delivering a tailored curriculum that supports both academic and emotional development

 

-          Support with de-escalation techniques and restorative practices when required

 

 

Ideal Candidate:

-          Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional learning needs

-          A patient, calm, and empathetic approach to supporting challenging behaviour

-          A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children

-          A Team Teach qualification (desirable but not essential)

Successful applicants will be subject to standard vetting checks, including two school / education-based references & a DBS. 

Applicants must be able to provide an Overseas Police Check if applicant has been outside the UK for more than 6 months in the past 5 years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
