Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate and resilient HLTA looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Our client, a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Rochdale, is seeking a dedicated HLTA to work primarily with students presenting behaviour-based needs.

Role Details:

• Position: High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

• Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester

• Start Date: ASAP

• Contract Type: Full-time, long-term (with potential for permanent appointment)

• Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Responsibilities:

• Supporting students with complex behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.

• Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement behaviour management strategies.

• Delivering tailored interventions and supporting learning across the curriculum.

• Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Assisting in the development of individual education and behaviour plans.

Requirements:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.

• Previous experience supporting students with behavioural difficulties, preferably in an SEN setting.

• Strong behaviour management skills, patience, and resilience.

• A calm, empathetic approach to challenging situations.

• Team Teach training is highly desirable (or a willingness to undertake training).
