Job description

Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant

The Head Teacher and SENCo of a reputable Primary School in the Preston area are seeking to appoint a Level 3 EYFS Teaching assistant to join their Reception EYFS class. This role is a temporary (with the opportunity to go permanent), full-time position; Monday – Friday with the working hours 8:30pm – 3:30 pm. The pay scale is from £12.90-£13.90 per hour.


Details of the role:
Within this role you will be expected to welcome the children into a warm, welcoming atmosphere - encouraging independence. The perfect candidate will have a passion for supporting children’s learning and behaviour. You will be able to show an understanding of the curriculum by supporting the children’s knowledge through provisions. This will involve inspiring children to learn through exploring their surroundings and asking questions allowing children to gain an understanding of the world. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative team and work alongside highly experienced practitioners, in particular the class teacher. Building positive relationships are essential in order to evaluate and assess the progress of children. Experience with behaviour management is desirable, but not essential.


Do I meet the success criteria for an EYFS Teaching Assistant?
- Prior experience in an EYFS setting is not essential but desirable.
- Providing support within the classroom wherever required
- Delivering activities on one-to-one or small group basis
- Ensuring children are engaged
- Supporting outdoor learning
- Adapting to individual pupil’s needs
- Helping with behaviour management of children
- Friendly, empathetic and motivating
- Have basic administration skills such as filing and laminating

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
