SEN Teaching Assistant – Hailsham (SEMH School)
Full-Time | Long-Term to Permanent Role
A specialist SEMH school in Hailsham is looking for an energetic, proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 8–18 with emotional, social, and behavioural challenges. Many pupils have been excluded from previous settings and require intensive support to re-engage with education.
Key Responsibilities:

Working 1:1 with pupils to develop both academic and social-emotional skills
-
Supporting lesson delivery, sensory activities, and off-site learning
-
Assisting with implementing behaviour management plans and risk assessments
-
Acting as a positive role model and trusted adult for students with complex needs
Requirements:
-
Experience working with SEMH, EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties), or challenging behaviour
-
Resilience, creativity, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
-
An interest in outdoor learning and therapeutic approaches is desirable
-
Team Teach or similar de-escalation training would be advantageous (training can be provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
