Job Title: Primary Behaviour 1:1 Support (KS1)
Location: DH1
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible

Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a KS1 pupil who requires additional emotional and behavioural support in a welcoming primary school based in DH1.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to a young learner’s educational journey within a supportive and inclusive school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies from the pupil’s Individual Behaviour Plan.

  • Encourage positive learning behaviours and engagement in class activities.

  • Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with the pupil, staff, and parents.

About You

  • Experience working with children with behavioural, emotional, or social needs (essential).

  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience.

  • Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
