Job description

We are looking for a committed KS2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural needs at a welcoming primary school in the DH7 area of Durham. This position is ideal for someone with experience in behaviour management who is looking for a lomg term role with the potential of becoming permanent if it’s the right fit.

The role will involve:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis with a KS2 pupil to provide tailored support and guidance

  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to help the pupil remain engaged and focused in lessons

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering learning activities and ensuring a positive classroom environment

  • Building a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil to promote their personal and academic development

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience supporting children with behavioural needs, ideally within a school setting

  • Demonstrate resilience, patience and a calm approach to managing challenging behaviour

  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Hold relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) – desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
