Teaching Assistant (1:1 ALN Support) – Full-Time

Location: Cardiff
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: £92.63 

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Cardiff from September. This is a full-time position, providing 1:1 support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with an individual pupil, providing tailored support throughout the school day. You will help create a positive, engaging learning environment while encouraging confidence, independence, and social development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • Assisting with learning activities in line with the teacher's planning.
  • Supporting the pupil's emotional, social, and behavioural development.
  • Implementing individual support plans and adapting learning where required.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Promoting an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • Has experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other learning differences (desirable but not essential).
  • Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
