Teaching Assistant Opportunities – Cardiff & Vale of Glamorgan

Are you looking for your next opportunity to make a difference in the classroom?

Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or have worked with children in another setting, Teaching Personnel would love to hear from you. We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support a variety of welcoming primary schools across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

With full-time, part-time, day-to-day supply and long-term positions available, we'll work with you to find a role that suits your skills, experience and availability.

Role Details

  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Location: Cardiff & Vale of Glamorgan
  • Pay: £92.63–£95 per day
  • Hours: 8:30am -3:30pm 

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting pupils across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2). You'll work alongside experienced teachers to create a positive learning environment, support children's academic and social development, and help every pupil reach their full potential.

Experience We Welcome

You don't need to have worked as a Teaching Assistant before. We'd love to hear from candidates with experience working with children in roles such as:

  • Sports Coach
  • Playworker
  • Nursery Assistant
  • Care Worker
  • Youth Worker
  • Guides or Scouts Volunteer
  • Any other child-focused setting

Essential Requirements

To be considered for these roles, you'll need:

  • Experience working with children in some capacity 
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), which is a mandatory requirement for working in schools across Wales

If you don't currently hold a DBS or EWC registration, Teaching Personnel can support you through the application process. Please note that the application fees are payable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
