Job description

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Cardiff. If you're looking to build your experience in education or continue a rewarding career supporting young learners, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Pay: £92.63 - £95.00 per day

The Role

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely alongside the class teacher, providing support to pupils as they continue to develop essential literacy, numeracy, and social skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom environment
  • Working with small groups and individual learners
  • Assisting with classroom activities and lesson delivery
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Caring, patient, and enthusiastic
  • Passionate about supporting children's learning and development
  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and able to work independently when required
  • Flexible and adaptable within a busy school setting
  • Reliable, committed, and eager to make a positive impact

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Workforce) or willingness to obtain one
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
