Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel are working with a welcoming primary school in the Cardiff area who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning and development.
The school is looking for someone who can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and provide support both within the classroom and across the wider school environment.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting pupils across a range of areas, including:
- Supporting pupils with their learning and development throughout the school day
- Working alongside the class teacher to help deliver engaging classroom activities
- Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra guidance
- Supporting children with additional learning needs, where appropriate
- Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and communication skills
- Working with small groups or providing 1:1 support
- Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation
- Supporting positive behaviour and creating a calm learning environment
- Taking an active role in the wider life of the school
What We're Looking For
The school would welcome applications from candidates with a range of backgrounds. Previous school experience is desirable but not essential for the right person.
You may be a recent graduate, someone considering a career in education, an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with transferable experience working with children.
We're particularly interested in candidates who are:
- Confident communicating with children and staff
- Patient, reliable and adaptable
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils
- Comfortable working as part of a wider school team
- Positive and proactive in their approach
- Interested in supporting children's educational and personal development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
