  1. Full Time
£92.63 - 96.00 per day

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a friendly and supportive primary school for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their Year 4 class from September.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who is confident working with Key Stage 2 pupils and is happy to take an active role in the classroom. The successful candidate will be supporting the class teacher throughout the day, helping to ensure every child is able to access learning and reach their full potential.

The role will involve a mixture of whole-class support, leading small group interventions and providing focused 1:1 support for pupils who require additional academic or pastoral support. You will be expected to adapt your approach depending on the needs of the children and be confident stepping in wherever support is needed throughout the school day.

The school is looking for someone who is positive, reliable and proactive, with the confidence to use their own initiative while working closely alongside the class teacher. Building strong relationships with pupils is essential, as is the ability to remain calm, patient and encouraging, particularly when supporting children who may need additional reassurance or guidance.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school.
  • Be confident supporting teaching and learning in a Year 4 classroom.
  • Have experience delivering small group interventions in literacy and maths.
  • Be comfortable providing focused 1:2 support to pupils with varying learning needs.
  • Be able to adapt quickly throughout the day and respond positively to the changing needs of the classroom.
  • Be organised, dependable and willing to get involved in all aspects of school life.
  • Have excellent communication skills and work effectively as part of a wider staff team.
  • Be passionate about helping children grow in confidence, independence and achievement.

Role Details:

  • September 2026 start
  • Monday-Friday (Term Time Only)
  • 8:30am-4:00pm
  • Full-time, long-term opportunity
  • Year 4 class
  • Competitive daily rate

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming school with a supportive leadership team and a collaborative staff environment. The school is looking for someone who is committed, enthusiastic and ready to make a genuine impact from the beginning of the new academic year.
