About the Role

Start Date: September 2026

Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Location: The Vale of Glamorgan

Salary: £92.63 – £95.00 per day

Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work within primary schools across the Vale of Glamorgan. We are seeking candidates who have previously worked within Key Stage 2 and are passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential.

The role will involve supporting the class teacher with pupils' learning, both within the classroom and on a one-to-one basis where required. You will be expected to encourage positive behaviour, support children's academic and social development, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

About the Schools

Teaching Personnel works in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools across the Vale of Glamorgan. These schools pride themselves on creating nurturing environments where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Staff work collaboratively to provide high-quality learning experiences, and pupils benefit from positive relationships with teachers and support staff. Schools are well-connected by public transport, with many also offering free on-site parking for staff.

About You

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who is:

  • Patient and resilient
  • Empathetic and compassionate
  • Experienced in supporting pupils within Key Stage 2
  • Confident working on a one-to-one basis (experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs is desirable)
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in children's education

What You'll Need

  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS Certificate
  • A current Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • At least 3 months' experience working within a school or a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification

Please note: If you do not currently hold a DBS certificate or EWC registration, Teaching Personnel can support you with both application processes (costs apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
