Teaching Assistant – SEN Provision
Location: Cardiff
Contract: Full-time and part-time available
Start: Immediate and ongoing
Salary: From £92.95 per day
Progression: Opportunity to move onto a permanent contract with the school
The Role:
Teaching Personnel are seeking enthusiastic, patient and committed Teaching Assistants to support a well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Cardiff. The school caters for pupils aged 3–19 years with a wide range of additional learning needs and severe learning difficulties, including ASD, complex needs, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and behavioural needs.
This is a rewarding long-term opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent school contract for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting learners on a 1:1 basis or within small groups
- Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated learning
- Supporting pupils with communication, sensory and emotional needs
- Using positive behaviour support strategies
- Assisting with personal care (if required)
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
- Helping create an inclusive, safe and engaging learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people (school, nursery, youth work, care, SEN, etc.)
- A passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A willingness to undertake relevant training (provided by Teaching Personnel)
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
