About Us

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with 3 vibrant and inclusive specialist SEN schools based in Cardiff.  The 3 schools have a strong community ethos and are dedicated to ensuring every child can thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. The schools range in ages, providing support for pupils between the ages of 3-19 so being flexible to work across age groups is essential.

Teaching Personnel are now seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and proactive SEN Support Assistants to join our team to work across the 3 provisions. If you have a passion for supporting learners with additional learning needs and want to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.


The Role

As an SEN Support assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils with a range of additional needs to access learning and succeed in school. This may include supporting pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
  • Speech, language, and communication needs
  • Social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Physical or sensory needs
  • Cognitive and severe learning difficulties

Your responsibilities as an SEN support assistant will include:

  • Providing in a 1:1, or small group setting
  • Implementing tailored learning and support programmes
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and differentiation
  • Supporting pupils to develop independence and confidence
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Liaising with teachers, families, and external professionals

Relevant experience or qualifications in SEN, childcare, education, youth work, coaching or sport are desirable but not essential - training can be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
