SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (KS1)

Bridport | ️ Start: September 2025 | Term-Time Only | ⏰ Full-Time | £85–£95/day

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a primary school setting? Do you have the patience, resilience, and creativity to make a real difference in a young learner’s journey?

A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Bridport is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with additional needs, starting in September 2025.


The Role:

  • Full-time position (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm), term-time only
  • Provide tailored, 1:1 support to a KS1 child with communication and social interaction difficulties
  • Implement structured routines, visual supports, and sensory strategies under guidance of SENCO & class teacher
  • Build a strong, trusting relationship to support emotional regulation and learning
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external specialists

✅ The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (particularly Autism, SLCN or SEMH)
  • A calm, consistent and empathetic approach to behaviour
  • Strong communication skills and a team mindset
  • Relevant TA qualification or background in education/social care (desirable but not essential)
  • A current enhanced child workforce DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
